September 2013

13 - 15 September 2013 For Ashes Inn
Another tremendous meet and with some key nano crew members down namely David ( Monk ), Dave ( Stocktake ) ,Paul ( Raistlin ) and Bernard so for the meet to go so well regardless is really pleasing to see.
Weather wise Saturday was the best day with no rain and we had the usual social scene in the pub and around the camp fire until the early hours with so much wood to burn the fire didn’t go out until early on Sunday morning.
Sunday lived up to expectations with the expected weather forecast reducing the attendance although the rain held of until about 2.30pm so we still got lots done and over the course of the weekend we had around 50 cars present
The Nano Meets are a massive team effort by a bunch of decent guys who collectively have the skills to help other owners out regardless of which forum you belong to, Duncan and Steve ( Arctic ) worked tirelessly over the weekend with Duncan completing 23 T4 sessions plus other bits of troubleshooting along the way, Steve was his usual self changing fans, doing handbrake compensator replacements, providing plenum mods and other bits FOC, and for my part I fitted powerfold mirrors, did some plenum mods and bonnet release mods, plus managed to fit a rear brake sensor to my own car.
We also saw other owners passing on the knowledge that they have picked up at previous Nanos to other owners attending a Nano for the first time, and that is what we are all about. We are not there simply to see owners as a one off but we hope you keep coming back and pass on either your existing knowledge and experience about the cars to others or the knowledge and experience you learn at the meets.
We had approximately 50 cars there over the weekend, and on the adjoining field there was also a 40s event so at times we were joined by Military personnel and Winston Churchill !
We had caravans plus tents again on this occasion so the camping village looked the part, and thanks to Mischief and Steve and Gail for the lovely cakes !

Jobs carried out included: New Fans and resistorsHandbrake : compensators: Engine mount: Headlight polishing: Rear window trim changed: Powerfold Mirrors fitted : Illuminated sun visors: Numerous T4 sessions: Plenum mods: Rear brake sensor: Rear electric windows fitted : Bonnet release mods: Air bag warning light.
