Hi all. I have been a member for a few years now, and although retired. April 2002, the time really seems to fly. I was going to a meet at Leicester about 2 years ago but got dropped on by the family from Germany, where my wife and i will be going in March 2014, just when the first meet takes place. No bother, i will be attending the May meet come hell or high water.
I have been driving Austin/British Leyland/Rover cars for decades now. My first Austin was a A90 Westminster, which was very reliable. The next car was a Daimler v8 250 Sportsman Saloon, auto the only one i have ever had up to the present. Then after a short dabble with a *****all shovit, i got a Rover SD1 2600, followed by a Rover SD1 3500 Van Den Plas. Then bought a Montego Clubman Diesel, followed by a Rover 220 SD diesel, and then onto my present car, the ubiquitous Rover 75 Cdt Club. I think this car has done as many miles on the continent as in and around this island of ours.
The only thing that i have replaced up to now are, rear wishbone mountings and battery in almost 6 years.Battery was the original when it was replaced earlier this year.2002-2013 not bad.
The only other member i have met off the forum is our hard working friend, ARTIC, who is a fount of knowledge, especially hand brakes.
Hope to meet you all soon, and thanks for the help and advice that you all give willingly to each other.
